Although the madness of New York Fashion Week has officially ended, the trends are still the talk of the internet town. It's pretty cool that even though the shows are forecasting the trends for spring/summer, you can still take a lot of the runway inspiration and incorporate it into your style now. One of these hot trends I kept seeing on repeat: mixed prints. At the Nicole Miller show I couldn't help but admire all of the gorgeous models walking down the runway in bold colors and unique prints. I obviously took some mental notes and me being the gal who loves to chase style on a budget, I decided to re-create this trend from the runway to the realway with JCPenney. Read on to learn more..
- Outfit Details -Shirt: Mango x JCPenney (n/a online, shop similar) // Skirt: Mango x JCPenney (n/a online, shop matching styles here) // Heels: Shoedazzle // Clutch: Just Fab (old, shop similar) // Sunglasses: Triple Graces // Cuff: CCSkye
I took inspiration from Nicole Miller's SS15 Runway Show to create this feminine-chic fall look. First, who said you can't wear white after labor day? Second, who said you can't mix polar opposite prints? Silly rules. If there's one thing I remember the most about Nicole Miller's SS15 show it's definitely all the black and white stripes and patterned skirts that came down the runway. This embroidered skirt from Mango x JC Penney instantly caught my eye. It reminds me of something similar I saw - except this one is 10 times cheaper (duh). You can pair it with a chic white top like I did for a sophisticated look or rock it with a graphic tee for a more casual approach. I searched everywhere on JCP's site for this skirt, but I think it's only available in select stores right now. Same with the top! :/ I literally just got it the other day though so check your local store and see! :) I threw on my black and white striped clutch and fun heels to help curate the ultimate mix-match!It's such a great feeling to know that you don't have to spend a million bucks to chase a-list trends. I love how JCPenney lays everything out in their stores so that you can go in and find exactly what you need. It's seriously the best feeling walking out of a store knowing you got what you wanted and didn't have to break the bank. Woo!
Have a great day!
