Let's talk about last night's Oscars shall we?! And by Oscars, I mean the fashion. I mean WOW!! So many pretty sights at last night's show. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from experiencing award shows (aka my recent SAG Awards experience), it’s the fact that you don’t need to be on a red-carpet to experience that ‘red carpet moment.’ Today I'm rolling out my own red carpet with DSW to show you how easy (and affordable!) it can be to channel celebrity style trends in your everyday wardrobe - From head to toe. ;) All you need is a little celebrity style inspiration. If I had to choose two celebrities who I’d love to channel in my everyday life…the award goes to Lupita Nyong'o and Gwyneth Paltrow. Last night I loved both of their Oscar looks. I took these two ladies as style inspirations for re-creating my own outfits that are everyday appropriate.
Lupita wore this all white gown that you might want to take a very close look at it. It is made of over 6,000 pearls! How daring is she for doing this!? It's one of those hit or miss dresses and I love that she took a risk. I also can't get over the bold dress she wore at the SAG Awards. It was so vibrant!
If Lupita was a shoe, I picture her being a colorful one. I took these fun and classy pointed-toe heels from DSW and styled them with these funky/cute striped gauchos. I think a shoe style like this can instantly add an elegant + bold statement to any outfit you attempt!

Next up, the minimal-chic style trend. It's always a hit on the red carpet (when done right). Gwyneth Paltrow is no rookie when it comes to this style. Yesterday at the Oscars, she came out in a classic Gwen dress. This pale pink dress with the detail on the shoulder looks so girly but effortlessly chic at the same time.
If Gwyneth was a shoe, she would be a timeless nude pump. These patent pumps are the perfect neutral shade with an opening on one side to add a little extra spice to your everyday look. You can dress it up or down - however you’d like!

In conclusion to this post - Whether you're feeling inspired to channel your favorite red-carpet style or simply looking for a fun new shoe to add into your closet, the options are endless when you're chasing style on a budget. Which look of the two DSW shoe styles do you prefer? Are you a bold risk-taker or less is more kind of gal? I hope you enjoyed this.
Cheers!
