Today I am excited, nervous, and thrilled to share a secret I've been keeping from my digital world for the past few months. I'm ENGAGED! ahhhI've been going back and forth for months on whether or not I should share the personal news. There are a number of reasons I've been keeping it a secret. But after months of hiding my beautiful engagement ring, I needed to be honest and open about it. Love is such a beautiful thing, but sometimes when you put your personal life out there it gives people an excuse to have an opinion about it. I was so happy after I got engaged that I decided to cherish this special moment in my life with close family, friends and fellow acquaintances.I've been actively posting my fashion and beauty tips with you guys for the past 4+ years and honestly didn't know how to break the news. It gets really tricky (let me tell you!) when you try to separate your professional life from your personal life. Especially when your job consists of being yourself!? ha After I got engaged, I felt like I was taking it back to the traditional days (ie. you know when people didn't share their engagement photos 5 minutes after it happens on social media?) and it was kind of nice! I was happy and that's all that mattered.
Before he was my photographer and business partner, Stevie was my best friend. We met in college (University of North Texas!) 4 years ago and truthfully it was God who brought him into my life at the perfect time. The more I fell in love with him, the more I let go of my fears. I reached a crossroads in my life when I knew I needed to actively start pursuing the life I wanted. This meant going against a lot of people's wishes for my life and to take a chance on my own. I am so glad I did. I've never met anyone as loving, kind, supportive, handsome and funny as this guy. No one makes me happier and no one can put up with crazy Sazan like he can! He might be white with freckles on the outside, but he's got major flavor on the inside. His favorite food is Kurdish Dolma and he speaks my native language better than me hahaha We joke because he says I'm whiter than him.How gorgeous is the ring? Stevie had it custom made - it's a classic hearts and arrow round cut diamond in a cushion setting! It's my dream ring!!!! I didn't even tell him what ring I wanted (as long as it was't pear-shaped LOL) so I was so impressed!!!!Lastly, I want to thank all of you who take the time to visit my little life through my blog daily. You guys are my motivation! It's so crazy to think that very soon I will be married.
