Good afternoon from the Middle East! I am so happy to be here in Kurdistan with my family! To update you, I traveled about 16 hours to get here and the time difference is 10 hours in front of Los Angeles time. So crazy! I've been taking it easy the past few days trying to adjust to the time because it's been very difficult! So far, I've been enjoying family time, good food and a little bit of shopping! It's been 8 years since I last visited Kurdistan and boy it has changed so much! (in a good way) They have everything here now - it's so great to see society advance!
This outfit I'm sharing today I wore on my first day here (as many of you saw a peek of on my IG). I bet you can't tell it's like 100 degrees outside! A light-weight blazer and relaxed trousers are going to be key for me on this trip. It's so hot here but I'm showing my respect to the culture by dressing more conservative and refined. Basically, I don't have to shave my legs while I'm here so what's not to love? haha kidding. By the way I shot this on our roof. The homes here in Kurdistan are so cool because you can chill/lounge on the rooftop like it's no big deal.
I also want to mention it isn't mandatory here for women to cover their heads with a scarf. There's this misconception sometimes that women in the Middle East are covered up from head-to-toe. That isn't the case here as women are given the choice to decide if they want to wear it.
I'm having such a great time creating memories with my family, relaxing and eating yummy Kurdish food! I can't wait to explore more and share pictures with you guys!
