Hey guys! Today's Get the Face is from one of my recent outfit posts, "Mixing Textures". If there is a lot going on in my outfit (in this case there was; I was mixing many textures and prints!), I will usually keep my hair and makeup more natural. I consider my hair/makeup an accessory so for me it's all about finding balance so that one doesn't overpower the other.

Lips: I am a girl who loves my lip-gloss. With that being said, I can be pretty picky. I don't like the super sticky glosses but I hate the really light ones that last 5 seconds even more. The taste/smell is also just as important as the touch! If it isn't pleasant on the nose why would I want to wear that on my lips all day? YSL's lipgloss collection is the answer to these nightmares. This brand is a personal favorite because the lip gloss applicator is like a paintbrush which makes it super easy to glide on my lips and get my money's worth! I like a little shimmer in my gloss but I also like matte sometimes so I'm always a happy gal when I see they have a wide variety of both at the cosmetic counter. What's not to love!?
Eyes: I recently got this dual ended eyeliner from NYX and I wasn't so sure how I would like it at first because so many of these type of eyeliners have failed me in the past. I like my liner bold and I don't want to apply 5-6 coats to get the look! However, this one actually IS bold after one coat. It has two sides - one is liquid and the other is crayon for all you indecisive folks like me out there. I like using both sides in one setting because the crayon can create a smokey/smoldering look around the edges. For $10, I definitely think this liner is worth stocking up!
Face: I have normal/combination skin, so usually I'll get oily around my T-zone as the day goes by if I don't keep it under control! I finally figured out how to keep it shine-free all day. After I wash my face, I apply an oil-free moisturizer and shortly (when I'm about to do my makeup!) I start the process with this amazing anti-shine matte primer around my t-zone (aka top of the forehead between brows, nose, chin). Next, I will apply my liquid foundation (which is also oil-free!) and mix some of my fav concealer to give it more of a flawless coverage. I press down the foundation with a translucent powder (except under the eyes and nose! I'll tell you why later). Next comes my YSL Touche Eclat highlighter (in shade 2.5) which I apply underneath my eyes to brighten the dark circles. I recommend going a shade or two lighter than your foundation because the color underneath your eyes naturally appears darker. Now I'll tell you why I didn't apply the translucent face powder under my eyes. I use this brightening powder instead (which is as light as air!) designed to set makeup under the eyes without it looking heavy and too matte (and bringing out the wrinkles!).. Ya feel me!? It really is a magical powder that I can't leave the house without wearing. I finally finished off the face with my favorite bronzer and blush and topped it off with (my fav part!) this shimmer highlighter stick from Benefit (pictured above). This is different than the YSL highlighter because it has a nice shimmer to it which looks AMAZING when you apply it right above the cheekbones and on the nose bone. Talk about the perfect glow! I even add a little bit of this to my cupid's bow which perks up and defines the lips.
Hope this helped you Get the Face! Let me know what makeup style of mine you want to see revealed next!
Cheers.
