Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone is enjoying this extra long weekend which we all NEED. Last week I shared a fall-inspired post with Mason & Belle - a new shopping site that has a variety of cute styles for every season. Today I've partnered up with them to show you how I'm kicking off fall with the red trend. It's no surprise that RED is the new black for fall 2014. I saw red everywhere on the Emmy's red-carpet last week and now I'm noticing it more in the display windows at stores and on the streets. If this isn't a sign for me to get with the red program I don't know what is! I'll admit, I've never really been a red kind of girl (unless it's lipstick) but lately it's at the top of my BFF color list.
I decided to play with red in an edgier-sporty kind of way. I've realized with trends that it's all about making it your own. Even though I'm wearing the loudest shade in the color box, I still feel minimalist-chic at the same time. These red trousers (or track pants if that's what you want to call it) can be styled in a number of ways all season long. I rolled up the bottom to give my look some edge, but they're also super cute rolled down under a pair of boots. If you're against wearing a white crop top after Labor Day (which I think is so silly!), then go for a cream/nude top or a matching red if you really want to show some love for this trend. If done incorrectly it could look a little bizarre, but if you ditch the accessories and jewelry, this monochromatic style could win you an Oscar for best dressed in the fall season category. hehe ;)
NYFW is this week. ah NEED to pack but I haven't even started yet. Wish me luck! Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day weekend cuties!
