A big problem I run into every time I’m packing for a trip is narrowing down the amount of makeup products I can take with me. The struggle is real! I’m always getting new eyeshadow palettes but I can never take them with me because 1.) they take up too much space, and 2.) I only really use two colors in the 50 piece set. Oops. Regardless, I hate not having options to take with me.Good news. There’s a solution. I recently learned that one of my favorite makeup brands Buxom has launched their new eyeshadow bar letting you customize your own 6-piece palette.
It all starts with choosing from 40 high-pigmented colors that are primer-infused, meaning that there’s no need to prep with a primer. The color will stay put! Buxom created 3 pre-made palettes to choose from if you are not up to creating your own customized palette. I decided to have fun with it and go through with customizing my own palette! The hardest part was narrowing it down to 6 of my favorite shades. Before I got lost in all the pretty colors, I imagined what my ideal palette would look like. Instantly I was drawn to creating a Day to Night transition palette to match my lifestyle. The colors I chose in my palette are 3 light/warm tones for the daytime look and more dramatic silvery hues for the night. Obviously you have the choice to mix and match whatever colors you want, but I prefer subtle shades during the day and darker for night. I even added a little pop of purple for those daring nights when I want to spice things up.
Left to Right: Satin Seduction, Bold Bling, Star Treatment, Lacy Chic, Pure Platinum, Wild Nights (shop all)
I decided to test out my new customized palette and show you guys 2 looks I created. The first one below is day time inspired. This is an everyday makeup look I can wear at home, the office or on vacation. It's light and natural. The eyeshadow colors I used here were Satin Seduction, Bold Bling and Star Treatment. I went for a light blush and nude lip. See products below
For the evening, I decided to spice things up by mixing the Lacy Chic and Pure Platinum eyeshadows together to create a smokey effect. I always went for a brighter blush color and darker lip. Va Va Voom! Keep in mind - the palette is refillable so you can play with as many colors and styles as you'd like.
